Functional training involves multiple muscle groups, balance, and cordination!

With the use of Bands and a BOSU, simple exercises become challenging. This movement focuses on trunk rotation, hip stability, ankle and knee stability, to name a few! A great way to enhance your golf swing and everday core strength!

Click to Enlarge As you can see from the picture, things have changed pretty drastically for Larry and I. The first picture was taken in April 05 on our 25th wedding anniversary. Our idea of exercise was walking to the car to drive to the store. We both knew we needed to make some pretty significant changes in our life if we really wanted to enjoy those "golden years". Our kids were gone from the house so there were no more excuses about finding time to work in exercise.

In April we started training at One on One Fitness. Rhonda, our personal trainer, has really taken our workouts to the next level. She has shown us how to exercise correctly so we both get not only optimum results from what we do, but she makes sure we do it the right way - which is vital when exercising. We both have a whole new appreciation for core strengthening, and pilates is now a house hold name. She continuously motivates us to push to the next level. And when you leave her studio exhausted, sore and totally drained, she also has that way of making you want to come back for more!!! And she's even taught us to run!! This is amazing being that Larry and I had never, and I mean never run before in our lives. We are both in the final stages of training for our first 5K run later this month thru Trail Club. We still laugh when we think that just 10 weeks ago I could barely run for 30 seconds more or less 30 minutes. That's what exercise will do for you!!!

It has changed our lives. It is as much a part of our lives as breathing is. We can't imagine a day were we don't work out, it's part of our everyday routine.

To date Larry and I have lost a combined total of just under 100 lbs.!!!! We have both gone down 4-5 sizes in our clothes. Larry in 4 months has lost half his body fat and is now at 11% - pretty amazing for a 53 year old who just started all this just 9 months ago. My goal to lose 5% body fat in 12 weeks has been recalculated due to the fact that I already lost almost 4% in 1 month! (We love our trainer!). The 5K I'm running in this month is a birthday present to myself... not too bad for 50!

Start working out today, get healthy, it's never too late. Find that inner strength to make the difference and make fitness a part of your life. You'll feel better, stronger, more alive that you ever have.
